Inspiration . . .

“Be the change you wish to see in the world.”     Ghandi

Did you know that . . .

The phrase, “It’s all fun and games until someone loses an eye” is from Ancient Rome.  The only rule during wrestling matches was “No eye gouging”, everything else was allowed.

Many of the first houses built in the American colonies were built from bricks that were used as ballast in the holds of ships.  The ships were unloaded of the bricks and then filled with exports to be taken back to Europe.

David McConnell sold books door to door of Shakespeare’s writings.  His sales were not very good so he offered perfume to anyone who bought books from him.  After a while he realized that the perfume was more popular than the books so he started a company selling perfume.  Today we know this company as Avon!

Not all products start out as well as planned: In the first year of business Coca Cola sold only 25 bottles!

Camel-hair brushes are not made of camel’s hair.  They were invented by a man with the last name of Camel.

Panama hats come from Ecuador, not Panama.

In real estate, a good agent representing a buyer will check the tax records of the property and compare the square footage listed in the MLS with what is recorded on the tax records.  The reason for this is that the home owner may have done some additions but did not obtain the necessary permits which would have increased the square footage on the tax records.  The additions that were done may not have been done to code and need to have a close inspection by a licensed home inspector.

If you are thinking of buying or selling, talk to a REALTOR who can give you the information you need to make an informed decision.

As always, if I can help with any of your real estate needs, please feel free to text or call me at 615 417-8182 or email me at
