In real estate, there is an instrument known as an ‘escalator clause’ although it is seldom used.  An escalator clause will automatically offer more for a property by a predetermined amount up to a set limit to outbid other potential buyers. For example: If a house is listed at $500,000 and you make an offer of $485,000 with an escalator clause, your offer will automatically increase by the predetermined amount of any offers over $485,000 up to your limit.  Of course, it is important that the buyer’s agent can confirm the offers were legitimate.

If you are thinking of buying or selling, talk to a real estate professional – talk to a REALTOR® who can give you the information you need to make an informed decision.

As always, if I can help with any of your real estate needs, please feel free to text or call me at 301-712-8808 or email me at RolandLow1@gmail.com.
